For Mk5 stub axle

Postby Aardvark » Wed Feb 08, 2017 2:03 pm

I am looking for the thrust washer that goes between the hex nut and the wheel bearing on a Mk5 (smiley).
It measures about 35mm O.D. x 6mm thick with a splined hole about 16mm I.D. These dimensions are approximate
because the old one is too badly mangled to measure exactly.

Great bargain for someone. I got one sent a couple of days ago from gotcoalman.

Since there's no photos with any of their items I would have to know the part number, which I don't.
They do describe it as a "Tab Washer" so not likely to be the one. Earlier models had a slot in the spindle end that needed a tab type washer (I think) but the
one I need is internally splined to lock to the splines on the axle.

Nice try buddy! :)

It is the part I got the Finis code 7023565 from here....

http://catalog.autopartmaster.com/?acti ... G001323205

I have an account with autopartmaster and have ordered a couple of these washers, if you pm me your address I will send you one. Only thing is it can take up to a month for these parts to turn up but maybe sooner too.

I have followed up on your link to allcarpartsfast.co.uk and asked them to confirm it is the right part. I gave them my VIN and the dimensions of the old one. Hopefully they have one in stock to measure. If not, and they just order from autopartmaster (Polish?) then I could be getting the wrong part. I can only wait and see what they say. I have been two weeks now trying to locate one of these bloody things in France, in UK, online and on nearly a dozen forums. I've had a few promises but then it all goes quiet. If I find a source I'll probably buy two if they are this hard to get. I must be the only one to have a wheel bearing explode and damage everything around it.
