MK3 Diesel Clutch Pedal

Postby Philbr » Sat Feb 03, 2018 4:45 pm

Hey,

Does anyone know where I can source an original clutch pedal for a MK3 diesel?
It was a petrol but has had a 2.5 diesel put in so have been told that I need a certain pedal if that makes a difference?

Thanks in advance.

Thought they were the same....... :?: :?: :?: .......but being a Mk3 it will have the self adjusting ratchet quadrant and cable.....some would say you'd be better off with the manually adjusted version from Mk5......get one from a scrapper.....10 min job to change.....I'd fit a brand new cable while you're on

Thanks for the replies!

Yes mine is welded to a fixed point and I have been told I need the self adjusting original as mine could go whenever!?

Will have a look into both the Mk2 and 5 options you have both mentioned, thank you.

Make sure whichever pedal you go for to get the matching clutch cable too, the self adjusting ones can be made to stop slipping on the ratchet by using a small coin, or a suitably sized washer, placed in the mechanism to stop the ratchet pawl from lifting.
