Duuno about the gap between the panels but there is a good 1 inch gap between the headlining and the ribs in the middle section of the van.

thgis job woulda been a POP ....IF id had all the right connectors and adapters...

ordered a s-video extension lead (cos the monitor has a lead to carry 2 audios plus +/-) and its not an s-video lead but the very similair looking PS/2 keyboard type plug......doh

PLUS, ive had to shunt the monitor back to clear the rear aircon controls which means the front end of the mounting plate only is screwed to the roof rib, im considering a bolt up into the roof to stabilise 100% the monitor but hestitating to go through the roof skin, wont be visible but seems unfortunate to have to do it, cant get into the headling though to do anything else.

do that except bond a bracket to the roof and bolt it to that so you can remove it :D

Can you not take the headlining down then you will be able to fit brakets behind it?

youve not seen the headlining in a tourneo i take it?...

a "bonded" bracket would be open to coming away when the screen is pulled down
a "screwed up" screw wouldnt hold the base of the monitor when it was pushed back up

der.....

two bolts, from above the roof/outside, straight down, with a small plate inside/below the headling with a nut above it and a nut inside the monitor to trap bolt, plate and monitor base...no movement of anything

all this to watch the simpsons....

I have the same headlining in my van!

If you do it with the right stuff as suggested you wont have a problem.

1. i bet the roof has sound deadening glued to it
2. i wonder what the depth of a rib is

3. i think a 1/8" thick ally plate with one end formed into [_____________ (like that) would be best

the base of the plate fixed one end to th erib and the other end glued/bonded to the roof

If you think Sikaflex isn't strong enough..........

Try pulling your windscreen out!

Aston Martin use a very similar adhesive

to bond their roofs on!

I think that says it all really!

ahh, id googled SILKAFLEX.....

any idea what product of the sikaflex range would be the best?

i just had a brainwave

the ultimate would be to bond up a short section of actual transit roof rib where needed...
