gone are the days where you could drive the wheels off somthing check the oil now and again and if it stops change the plugs points & condensor far too many ecus sensors to go wrong ,old school mechanics are a dying breed .nowdays they are fitters not mechanics the computer says what part to change and they fit it.
a friend of mines lad works at a local ford dealer and without a computer couldnt cure a simple fuel problem on a 3 litr capri he was totally lost
mind you 99% of the people who have passed their driving test in the last 10/15 years have never driven a rear wheel drive motor

and due to experience i can diagnose most faults without ids and only use it to get repair validation codes as if we dont use ids and get these codes we dont get paid
