My van is 3yrs old to me now and I thought it time for a few changes. As I use my van everyday as a mobile fitter it is like my mobile office. So a few home comforts are required.
It started life as an entry level low spec 75ps van. (Still a 75ps van!- for now) As Im getting 450 miles to £80 tank fill going to leave it be for now.
Fitted Clarion Sat nav & dvd head unit and electric windows (3yrs ago now when i bought the van first thing I had to have)
Since then had the bumpers colour matched and also the mirror caps.
Recent additions (last week)..
Removed the metal bulkhead to open up the rear half of the van. Made a new bulkhead just in front of rear wheels. ( I need a boot of sorts to carry tools etc)
Sourced a Ford triple rear seat from a Mk7 (£100).
I have made a headlining into the rear section that follows on from the front. This has been re-trimmed throughout.
Fitted a double switched 240v AC socket into the rear which runs from my 1kw pure sine wave inverter in the rear.
I have sourced side windows from a mini bus that failed the MOT as they were tinted and had to be changed for clear glass. These were fitted Friday by myself and a good friend at National windscreens. I have seen other posts that have been put on here regarding window fitting, to which I was always amazed that the bodywork doesnt appear to be "primed" over the painted surface before applying the window sealer.
Today I have fitted two rear seat 7"screens that are connected to the Clarion DVD head unit and front roof screen.
Carpet is now in and seats bolted into place with 6mm spreader plates fitted to the underside of the floorpan
Ive had the side windows re-tinted in Limo black, you can see out nicely but from the outside they just look black.
(The shiny bits around the window are where the camera has flashed on the edging trim)
