I'm taking out the mk7 dashboard tomorrow. Should be fun. My first time.

Ok I removed the mk7 dash out the doner van today. Just a couple things will the mk7 heater work in the mk6? And also I noticed there are 3 clips holding the dash in up near the windscreen instead of bolts. Will that make a difference? I do have the clips. Will these clips fit the mk6.

Are we just talking heater controls? You just keep the original heater and all I had to do was swap one of the control cables. On the mk6 there are 2 cables, a long one and a short one, I had to swap the short one for another long one as the controls sit slightly further to the left :D

As for the clip, I can't even remember what I done? It was a good while ago

Thanks punto for your reply. Basically when I took out the dash I took the whole lot as one unit with the heater & heater controls all still attached. I am wondering if It' possible to plug in the main heater so it all works. Or do I have to use the mk6 heater.

I used mk6 heater....I also used mk6 controls as they do still fit..mk7 control will fit as well but i wanted minor things people will notice as well...not sure if mine being a executive makes a diffrence but my mk6 heater box had a extra bit of plastic each side which was for the trim which wraps round the heater to match with old dash i had to remove these bits of plastic but otherwise it fitted in place in a day... hazard switch i have still to modify same for both heated screen switchs

I've done mine, hazard was easy haven't got round to doing the heated window switches or the wire for the headlight motors. It's just out of paint so getting built up and I'm onto the steering wheel mod which I've forgotten how to do

Punto has a thread about the steering wheel mod, It's worth looking it up, How did you do your hazzard switch? :)

There was a thread on the hazard switch on here, it's basically chopping both the new and old switches and gluing together
