Mk7 nudge bar fitting?

Postby AlexHerts » Sat Dec 21, 2013 4:56 pm

Toying with the idea of fitting a nudge bar onto my mk7, but it looks like you have to screw into the bumper either side of the number plate according to the photos I've seen..

Trouble is, I have no holes next to my plate on the front bumper, do you just drill them in and there are holes behind???

Cheers :)

What age is your van? Not allowed to fit them to anything after 2007/8 if I remember correctly

I think that only counts to full wrap around bars.

Behind your number plate there should be some holes I believe that holds your bumper in place that is what supports the a bar as well mate

If I remember right on mine the brackets go behind the number plate in the original holes that hold the front bumper on then some brackets go under van and attach to back of the little steps at bottom of bumper in total 4 brackets really easy

Hi guys,

Here is a photo of the A Bar fitted to my MK7:-

Image

As you can see there are two brackets which fasten to two existing bolt holes which are behind the front number plate.

Just remove the number plate to expose them.

Mine also has two brackets underneath the van, again using existing bolt holes.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Paul

Hi Alex that's the same bar as i have, it is a bit of a pain to fit. You have to drill the bumper to fit it, biggest problem i had was when the holes are drilled there is a metal plate about 2 inches behind the bumper and the nuts fit inbetween the 2. I had to unscrew the top of the grill and squeeze my had down into the gap to screw on the nuts. After alot of swearing and searching the shed for new bolts to replace the dropped ones the job was done.
