Worth trying Paul at Southern...

Address: 194 Queen's Road, Watford, Hertfordshire County WD17 2NT
Phone:01923 230085

He will put your planets in a mk5 or might still heve a 3.9 available. Couple of years ago when I went...he sets them up very well 8)

Well I can highly recommend Paul at Southern...Address: 194 Queen's Road, Watford, Hertfordshire County WD17 2NT - Phone:01923 230085 as he is very efficient, very courteous and very very helpful.
Diff built within 1 day using an excellant Mk5 4.11 crownwheel and pinion and complete new bearings, spacer etc and he is packaging it all up so my courier can collect on Monday, should be with me by Wednesday :D :D :D
Many thanks to hornhead for recommending Paul and supplying his contact details.
Happy days .. 8)

Missed the delivery man yesterday :? so went and collected my new diff today from the sorting office :D
Dived under the van and cleaned out the axle.... found bits of my broken pinion:

Got axle cleaned up and fitted new gasket, then got new diff out of box:

with its new bearings and spacer and its mk5 4.11 - 1 crownwheel and pinion, bolted it to axle:

relocated half shafts, drums and wheels, re-fitted prop, Filled up with EP 90 axle oil, dropped van off its axle stands - which had grown roots as they have been there so long  jumped in the drivers seat, turned key and ............ flat battery
Battery now on charge and a road test will be done tomorrow.
Thanks again to Paul for building the diff....

Took van for a test drive today and all went well, no noises, no leaks and far better with the 4.11 - 1 diff ratio.
Forgot how much fun the Essex V6 is :D
