BMW m62 v8 Auto into mk6

Hi all

Been using this site for a long time for info but never contributed, I have been looking for a project and one presented itself and so, thought I would document it for others to hopefully enjoy.

So we run a minibus company and one of the older vehicles which is used as a run around has got a noisy engine, it was a shame as this particular van had decent body work and no rust. It then dawned on me that this could be the opportunity I had been waiting for, to put a more powerful engine into a minibus and use as a sort of advertisement vehicle.

I chose to use a BMW M62 4.4 v8 as I have a good knowledge of the engines and am happy with how they perform. With almost 300 bhp and a tonne of torque, this should get the transit moving pretty well. My second more questionable choice is to use the auto box. I know manual variants are available but I am a lover of autos!

I have purchased an E38 740i to use as the Donner car and am currently working out all the control units I will need for the conversion to work, the wiring will be very time consuming but will be worth it.

Hopefully thing will start to get moving over the next couple of weeks an can start taking some pictures.
