In need of a loud horn!

Postby nick217 » Tue May 20, 2014 10:51 am

The little pathetic horn on my mk5 has about had it now. Always liked the idea of fitting a train horn (or loud horn). What have you lot fitted over the years?

I'd go for a train horn if I was big enough to take on confrontational people bigger than me

I got my compressor at the moment just sitting behind drivers seat under the crew bench seat in the back..I do plan to fit it in the back by the wheel arch and run the pipe down the sill and horn sis above the gearbox...Damm loud as well and i plan to fit a air ride seat at somepoint(maybe)

I also wired up my compressor to arelay to my battery so it is only switched on when ignition is on,I have a minor air leak it goes from 90psi to 30psi overnight but dont drop any lower than that even over 2 days.. also rubber mount the compressor otherwise u get a vibration through the panels..
you can fit a quick release connector on the compressor so if u want to inflate tyres or blow line duster type thingy you can easily do that..

Would love to see a video of these working when they're fitted, and find out if the customs hit you at all?

£18 customs fee on mine..they came via dhl..i think thats a bit cheaper as well as i work for dhl logistics and got them redirected to my work place as well....as normal it depends if the parcel is opened and if customs decide the written value is correct or not and if incorrect they find prices and go by that plus there fee
