Mk7 transit t280 lowering kits

Postby trav804 » Mon Aug 11, 2014 6:42 pm

Hi all, new to the site,

I've been looking about for a lowering kit for the above van.
I've tried all ways contacting mod your transit, does he still trade?
Or anybody got a contact number?

If not who else is making a kit?

Cheers Travis

Van x has a mk6 transit with air suspension, not sure if this helps, but if anyone knows I would like to drop mine to the floor too!

You could buy another van for £2500! I lowered mine for around £200 on t5 coilovers on the front & had the rear springs decambered viewtopic.php?f=27&t=149495

Should be pretty much the same to do on the mk7 I think the mk7 same design anti roll bar thing half way up the strut like the t5 so you could easy make a plate that bolts to this mounting bracket to suit the mk7. As for the top mount this needs to be opened up m14 size & the coil over spring sits perfectly inside the old mk6 cup. The diameter of the t5 strut was roughly 0.5mm larger than the mk6 so a good clean of the hub & some grease it does squeeze in.

The other thing to remember is to buy a full t5 lowering kit then flog the rear lowering springs off to the t5 boys! I did this with mine and sold them for £120 so it only cost me around £100 to lower the front
