not updated this for a bit but i've still being doing stuff - not really progressing visually tho.

rad is now fitted in place, and i'm still deciding on how to get an intercooler in the engine bay

i made a bracket to mount the VW accelerator pedal - this picks up on the original holes and allows the VW pedal to bolt onto it - better than just drilling new holes :D ive also had to reshape the pedal arm to suit the transit floor

ive also made a bracket to mount the header tank but that might end up in the bin and i'll use a different header tank as im struggling for space in the engine bay

ive also ordered a crafter flywheel but thought after that the passat crank sensor might not fit on it :? fingers crossed theres a way round it if it doesnt - but i do need a crafter one as the starter wont mesh or the gerabox splines fit on the passat one

my crafter flywheel and clutch arrived today 8) - not posting how much i paid for it in case i read back in a few years and think
good news is it has the same indents as the passat one so looks like the passat sensor will work (still need to split the box to have a look where it is) also looks like it will fit the crank.......... always a bonus

i had a look at the passat fuel tank, pulled the sender off and it looks like there is a pump inside - didnt show on any of my drawings so i'll have to drop the tank to get full details and fit one into my transit tank :D

A guy on another forum I'm on has just successfully finished putting a VAG TDI into a MR2. (Link below)

Might be worth a read to see if anything he did would help your project?

bit of a set back today - got the new flywheel fitted on the crank but the crafter crank must be longer than 1.9 one as the flywheel fouls on the adapterplate :x

racked my brains for a bit and ive decided the best way is to machine down the adapterplate

shame as i was hoping to have the engine box mounted today and start wiring up but i'll have to wait until this is done before i can continue
