At the time there was nothing else that could compare to the beauty of a jag independent, let out of its cage, chromed to the teeth! I did some work for a pal, put a specially fabbed crossmember in a Thames van to take a jag. He wanted me to do the full installation so I did some research on what was involved. In the original Jag installation there are lots of rubber isolation joints including the cage mountings. Early on, some people had big problems with rose joints breaking because they hadn't taken the time to work out how all the parts had to articulate during suspension bounce and rebound. Then came the problems of hard ride. A Jag weighs a fair bit more than a an Anglia, Ford Pop, T-bucket, etc. Most common bodge was to use the coilover springs from a Reliant Robin!

I wanted that, but could never afford the cost of just buying one, never mind all the engineering to get it right lol
