Our MK6-MK7 Tourneo Front End & Dashboard Conversion

Postby tony&kasia » Tue Dec 23, 2014 1:39 pm

Hi Guys, This is how we but our Tourneo, I am going to get the mk7 front conversion done & also the dashboard conversion, Also mk7 doors & tailgate, & mk7 Tourneo seats all round.
At the moment stardust silver seems to be our favorite colour, But the colour can change, I will finish it off with some alloys but prob standard ford ones, Going to start on it early next month. There is no rush for us but we plan on buying a caravan & hope to have everything ready for a nice easter break, I will be adding photos as we go along, I would like to mention that i am doing these conversions only because i have found this forum & a big thanks to some of you guys who has already assisted me, :D

Thanks dodgy01,
So as you can see there is a bit of work needing to be done :( We bought it as a cat C, It looks a lot worse than what it is :) These photos were taken by the seller, I will be adding photos as we go along.

1 other tip drill the floor before fitting the dash as its easier.. when i did mine which is a 2002 van i found the metal brackets on the van below the front screen needed cutting to make them slot in the mk7 dash... you can use the mk6 heater controls if u remove them from old dash they go in the new one so no need to fit mk7 heater wire and it wont stretch anything... hazard switch is easy to do as u fit the mk7 onto the mk6 one.. think punto did a how to on this as well..

Yeah it looks like it :( But it's not an ex taxi :) The mileage is ok (service history) From what i can gather it was used with dogs for some reason. The engine & box is fine, No smoke, The end of the day she will have a 2013 smiley face with a good mk6 engine & a happy driver :) Well that's the plan :)

Jay thanks for that :D I really do appreciate your tips :D I did notice a bracket on the floor where the dash bolts to, I had plans to drill the hole for the cables before the dash went in :D Again cheers mate.
