Postby nelly001 » Sat Feb 28, 2015 3:02 pm

just wondering has anyone made an adaptor plate to mate an mt75 gearbox to a duratorq engine 2.0 or 2.4 or any good write ups on making one.

Ford did this, the 5 speed gearbox used in the Mk6/7 models is an Mt75 and bolts directly to the Duratorq engine.

What exactly are you wishing to do?

was thinking of a Mondeo 2.0tddi engine in a mk5 with mechanical pump.with a mk6 box gearstick would be moved back and maybe prop needs shortening.im just thinking not serious yet .

Indeed, in the Mk5 it would be easier to use the Mk5 version of the Mt75, as you say it would keep the gear lever in the correct place and avoid the need for propshaft mods.

I have prepared CAD drawings to work the other way around, (Di in a Mk6/7), so I am sure we could reverse this

I am sure that this would be a good conversion :D

I know nothing about cad but a friends got a water jet machine I will have to ask him how much.it would also mean you could keep the manual cable clutch instead of the plastic crap
