Custom sport wheels

Postby northwaleshaz » Fri Sep 25, 2015 10:18 am

Hi Lads,

Two of my MS design wheels are buckled on my mk7 sport and I've been thinking about fitting custom sport wheels instead. Has anyone done this? I'm not sure if they would look decent or not?

Pics would be great if anyone has 8)

They do look good (from what I can see in the pic) and I wouldn't worry about them sticking out too much, the Ms design wheels on the mk7 sport stick out a bloody mile!

Its a yes from me, i will be getting a set this week and then going with 235 50 18's.

These need a set of M14 tapered seat nuts btw, the flat seat nuts wont work.....once i get them on i will know if i can space them out more into the arch.

Did you manage to get any pics and are they the exact same fitment as the mk7?

I've got the transit sport with the ms design alloys fitted so I assume I've got tapered nuts already.

Not yet, got the full set in hand with caps, ordered a new set of nuts from ford......waiting tyre delivery of 235 50 18 michelin primacy3's.

They fit ok as i test fitted one to the front and rear, the front, you can get a finger between the strut and the back of the rim.

I will put them on direct, then i will see if i need spacers or not to make them look better, but they may not need them.

Coooool :D Well I'm very interested to see what they look like. Did you buy them direct from Ford and do you mind me asking how much they were?

Not at all...

There is an ebay page with them that are connected to a ford dealer called stoneacre who may i add are very helpful guys and the best ford dealer i have ordered from, there was none of the usual shite they come out with.

Wheels were £840
Caps were £25
Nut set with lockers £80
The tyres i got were £530

So thats £1475 and i gotta get the tyres fitted and balanced yet so maybe another £40?

Waxoyled which was £440....seat cover...mats...sport kit...i should of just got a transporter hey!...still got deadlocks and alarm and other things in the pipeline.

I'm also interested to see the outcome as one of my ms wheels is buckled aswell. There due a refurb soon so might just get some custom alloys and keep these ms designs for a winter alloy and have them powdercoated.
