You can quite possibly get the original tacho to work. I think the diesel one was driven off the alternator, see if you can locate the wire, or grab a wiring diagram to identify it. You then need a Holden diagram, to identify the tacho output from the ECU, might have to sign up to one of the Commodore forums to get that !
Connect the tacho output from the ECU to the old input wire, and hopefully it will work okay!
What mods have been done to make 300hp?

ta mate as for the mods ..it has a 10psi pulley and the restrictors [im told ]taken off [whatever that means]i guess the ecu has been mapped .
I doubt is making 300hp though as in the Commie its rated as 175kw @6psi[235hp] i reckon its now about 195kw @ 10psi[260hp]
Diff internals changed to give a better ratio .All i know is .....it shifts
For a 2 tonne van it accelerates like a saloon car...
However its a bit flighty once you get above 170ish unless you have weight in it
I Bought it to take my bikes to the drag strip so ill be throwing it up the 1/4 mile just for shits and giggles to see how quick the old girl really is

sounds good, I will follow your progress :)

I have a Mk2 with a non S/C V6. It goes really well too. Mind you, a bit lighter than your van at only 1650 kgs :) I have bought a S/C V6 to fit into it, can't wait! :D

Quite a good forum for tuning the V6 here, once you feel the need for a bit more power :)

ta mate got a wee bit of tidying up to do under the bonnet ,,and sorting out the dual battery system ..fixing my heater blower ..[resistors buggered , ] getting the tacho to work ..sorting the cable on the B&M shifter ,fitting some extra gauges ,and a dual seat in the back for the nippers luckily the vans been completely soundproofed and carpeted in the back so the hard grafts all done
