roof marker and other add on lights legality?

Postby RODAT » Mon Jan 30, 2017 7:56 pm

Hi All
Havent been on here for ages,so please excuse my questions..
I want to fit marker lights to roof and rear,as I have done on several of my custom vans Ive built over the years.Used to use any reasonable looking lights that came my way,but this time Im wondering about legality, cos Im getting old and not so carefree!LED's are excellent nowadays.A couple of Q's...
.Do the lenses have to be 'e ' marked?
Is the height from ground,ie roof legal?
Thanks in advance.

A good basic rule of thumb , white to front, red to the rear, amber on the sides. Flashing lights, amber turn signals and hazards only :D . If you follow the basics you shouldn't suffer the inconvenience of being pulled over :D .
People will argue that other colours can be fitted and used , I've got all colours on mine but only get used at shows and meets ect and not for general driving. If you want a better idea have a look on fb " vans with lights page" :D
