Anybody tried an LED Head lamp bulb kit

Postby paulrichardson » Mon Jul 10, 2017 4:27 pm

Hi Guys,

Not sure if this counts as a mod?

I've noticed quite a few LED headlamp bulb conversion kits appearing on ebay and Amazon.

I wondered if anyone has tried on, and if they are any good.

The reviews on Amazon sound positive.

Regards,

Paul

Hi, thanks for the info, couple of questions if you don't mind.

1) Was the fitting easy?

2) Are they loads brighter?

3) Have they passed an MOT yet.

Paul

Fitting was easy.
They werent much brighter but it was a crisper sharper light if that makes any sense. A better colour than yellow thats for sure.
Take them out for the mot if you're worried. Fitting is around 5 mins a bulb and that includes taking the headlight out.

Off topic.
Ive recently fitted the latest type HID kit.
Results are brilliant (excuse the pun)
All in one plug n play hid bulbs with in built ballasts
No seperate ballast to mount etc.
Just a bulb with ballast on its back end and a small lead which plugs direct into original bulb holder.
As yet ive had no one on coming toward me flash because of being blinded etc.
Only downside is the ballast on back when fitting
I found best way to fit is to remove headlight unit to ensure bulb is seated in headlight correctly and to make aure bulb retaining clip is fitted properly as ballast can make it tricky to fit with headlight in place

I've had oral night breakers for years now (in fact the same bulbs came out of my freelander, into my navara, now in the transit) -I don't think you can beat them for vision at night without hids etc..
