Thanks ding :)
I'm lucky that my work is in the village where I live and even luckier that my boss lets me work on the van in the yard :) and it stops the neighbours complaining

Thanks mate, :)
I've got to admit that if it weren't for the ftf, I don't think it would look half as good
Most of my ideas are taken from, or at least inspired by the guys on here :D
Your thread on the Rustoleum is a perfect example as I'd never heard of it, and I'm going to get another tin to do the bonnet, etc. once I finish the grill. I've tidied up a few wee rough bits on the sides and removed the pin-stripe ready to rub down before the next coat :)
I'd actually got those lights to upgrade the wifes car ages ago and never got round to changin them  Glad I didn't now

Unfortunately the money I'd hoped to spend on fibre-glass, paint, etc. has had to be used for new prop-shaft bearings.
They're absolutely gubbed, so take priority on the limited project funds
At least I now know what was making it judder and bearings are cheaper and easier than a new clutch :)

Might be worth gettin under and checking for play, as mine deteriorated quite quickly :(
Good thing is that they're only 23 quid each  :D

I've still not managed to persuade the boss to let me chop up the grill at the back of the workshop, so I can't get the grill mods done :(
Anybody got one lyin around

So, since my tin of Rustoleum arrived I got stuck in to painting the bonnet, and ended up doin the whole van again
Well impressed with the results you can get with this paint :)
OK it aint no respray, but it costs a lot less and really tidies things up on an old van. :D
I've taken some pics and I'll post them when I get the chance

Well I still haven't got the grill mods and clear indicators done yet :(
but I have painted the bonnet, fitted new number plates and if you look carefully
there's some chrome trim on the centre part of the grill.

lol yeah definately. We are planning a scotland trip later in the year. I'm about to do coat number three as coat 2 dried too quickly in the hot sun so the finish isn't as smooth and shiny as the first one was. I still have about a quarter of a tin plus one full unopened one.

I figure its almost as easy to paint the van as it is to wash it lol

Is the white rustoleum you have used a similar colour to the ford original white? You have given me an idea, I have been thinking about how to paint the engine bay, but I didnt want to strip the brake lines out or make a mess with over-spray...
How much was it and is it readly available?

Thanks matt, I wasn't too sure about it at first but once the windows were tinted I was well happy :)

It's not an exact match Alan, but it's pretty close and I think you'd easily get away with using it in the engine bay.
I've been asked about the rustoleum so much that I've set up a wee link for it http://scottishvanners.50.forumer.com/v ... f=45&t=316
I'd thin it about 25% white spirit/75% paint for the engine bay.
The colour code for the paint I used is Smooth RAL9010

Btw, can you reccomend a filler for the plastic grill :?:
I've finally managed to get the materials together to mod the grill
but don't know what filler to use on the joins :?
