Wanted to sort out the rusty left door on the back end of my bus for ages
Today was the day
Start time 11:00
Not the best day to do it, but hey
Right, get that door off, and chop the top off the repair panel
Lay new panel over door and score where to cut, and cut it
Drill the spot welds and chisel the skin off, then clean it all up
Check if it fits, and tack it
Weld it up, grind it back, and check the door still fits, before getting some primer and paint on it
Ooh, nearly forgot to mention - the doors are NOT square at the bottom,
so the bottom of the new panel had to be beaten flat then a new fold put in at the correct angle for the left door. Grief.
Stop the clock - 18:00
It's not perfect yet, but it'll do for now.
I need to reinforce it inside as it's a bit flexi, and finish filling it to perfection.
Number plate and light tomorrow - only a temporary fix for now, until I fit a new bumper
