Anyone who has factory central locking that either dont work or have no keyfob, you can use these kits with a few extra relays, 2 diodes and 2 capacitors can make a really simple interface to allow the signal from kit (2wires wires, polarity reversable ) to control ford locks 3 (of 5) wire system. Ford locks use a Constant earth and have 2 other wires one gets 12v to lock t'other gets 12v to unlock. (White /violet and orange/black )

This is what Im doing to use existing front drivers door lock.
Will use kit solenoids on sld and power pop for rear as i haven't got a door handle on rear!!

Diodes allow only one relay to operate depending upon polarity (either lock or unlock )...
Capacitors allow relay to operate for approx 2 seconds after button released as ford locks are slow as hell to function...

Diodes need to be silicon type approx 1amp rated...
Capacitors are electrolytic type (have + - ) and are 2200uF approx 16 to 20vdc max
Relays can be standard car relays

Thanks, it makes sense. I managed to get a high spec wiring loom for my van.

Right, lets asume that the lock is out and the white plastic cover removed (this is drivers lock, pass' is mirrored:

Drill a hole here:

Feed through the rod that comes with the c/locking, motor kit slight bending may be required:
Image

Reassemble plastic cover and fit back in door, both rods will now be hanging down, push lock rod back in and attatch motor rod to motor as picture... the motor is screwed straight to the door, try and keep the motor & rod angles as straight as poss' (bend to suit):

Refit security cover if you wish (not worth a carrot really!) feed wire through grommet (best taken off). done :)

I know this is an old thread, but is there any chance you could put these pictures up again , i could really use this information at the moment
