Hi Rob I am waiting for my son to make me a visor for my camper,
He is a fabricator,
would you show me how to make one,I am not going into buisness I just want a one off.
He has benders, rollers a full fabricating unit,he doesnt have a lot of time tho,
He wants to use tube for the front ,and weld steel to it for strengh,I think thats over the top .
I think if the sides were rolled from the van pillers, and the front rolled that would be anought to stop it flexing.
then just bolt the visor to the side supports, :?

[quote="frank133"that would be anought to stop it flexing.
then just bolt the visor to the side supports, :?[/quote]Could be very interesting without any extra central support /supports when that visor flies off at 50mph+
Have you travelled in a van with a visor that naturally moves about.I can assure you that I have at speed (on a private road of course) and that visor has plenty of central supports.

Word of advice" buy the pukka item".

yes and yes mate all good. is your one "sealed" against roof at rear of visor? i understand front will buffet around with airflow, this is to be expected but i wonder how much the rear shape of visor affects overall movements too ie if creating an air dam or if airflows under as easy as over .....etc etc

fronts will need metal reinforcement but to what degree and where will be variables that need to be addressed.

plenty of time to experiment to fine tune, so guys if you can be patient we might be onto a good un :D
