I take it you mean a 'low tens' drag van, not one that will start shedding bits and self destruct after 10 secs. If it's the latter, I think you will find it's already been done, called a spr*nter.....

to get a transit to do this in a 1/4 mile would cost £££££££££££££££ asley has one very fast van with v8 and supercharger and the best he has done is around the 13.8  thats still bloody quick but 10 seconds that would be very fast !

My westfield does high 12`s (cos of crap gearing), and thats with a power to weight ratio of 363bhp/ton. Scale that up to a transit and your going to need about 550bhp to do the same. To get to 10`s....................EEEK!

Someone needs to do it though.

so if you could get the weight down to 1 ton it shouldnt be too dificult

i was thinking about this project a while back, it's a non starter for me really ive got way too many as it is, but..................... if you cut the transit shell off the chassis - as its the chassis thats heavy and put it on either a spceframed chassis or say a granada floorpan then midmounted a 350bhp bmw 7 series or merc v8 or whatever :? - those big cars you can get for nowt due to excessive running costs :P then it could be done fairly cheeply couple of grand mabe :D dunno if it would do ¼mile in 10 secs but it would be fast
