You could make a real nice van on that money, and then some!

Getting back to the storyline, I believe Ashley is in the early 13s.
Wobbly Bob is at 11.8 with his supercharged chopped 7.2 Bedford, now thats one quick van. I don't think that 10s are realistic in a van, unless it was very trick, ie spacedframed fibreglass. Just not enough power for the weight. Even a Cossie would still need insane boost.

Depends on what you got pushing it! 10"s from a 1400kg van is not a big challange
we have full bodied sedans over that are heavier than a mk2 and run in the 9's

you will never do it with a cossie! simple...

This car is a ford falcon its about 1500kgs its a full steet legal has a full sound system is powered bo a 4ltr 6 cyl and runs 9.974 @ 134.54mph
Image
This is another falcon with a 4ltr 6cyl it runs a 10.17 @ 132mph

These are ony 6cyl powered street cars

another problem wit doing it in a van is the aerodynamics, your gonna need to be touching 130 do do it in 10 secs at them speeds its gonna matter a lot :P

what time did the jap van with the ladders in them videos do it in :?: 11 sec wasnt it :?

The l300 isnt much lighter than a mk2 and that van is running a very mild 350 with a bit of n2o and has heaps and heaps left in it but its only for some fun after all he needs it to tow his bobcat

if you watch this vid closley and listen to the run will will see that he get heaps of wheel spin of the line so he backs off gets on it again spins the wheels again and getting out of shape you can see that its spinning the wheels for most of the run then again its only got an 8.5" tyre and still pulls an 11.32

I really think a 10 second mk2 is acheivable

That's a great video!
My mate had one of those when he was in Oz (only a normal petrol/LPG job mind). He scrubbed out going too fast on a gravel road and hit a tree! He was fine but the van was never the same.

Probaly a second or so :D Luke wider rears would help it hook up better and help to stop the snakeing off the line :D removing the roof rack would also help stabillaty.
