i took 15mm of the outside, cant remember the inside measurement but there straight, i measured off another mk7 off holes in the sides of the leg, then the lips that i cut off i welded back on the sides. i bought the proper support that slides inside the leg for the tow eye on the passenger side.

I bought the plates that sandwich between the leg and the cross beam, i welded those top and bottom, then bolted the crossbeam through the sides of the plate and the lips that i welded back on, just copied the original mk 7 as much as i could.

i have a part to fit under the bonnet tomorrow which tunnels the air through into the cab and then i'm gonna take the finished pic and add it to the album.
