tachograph heads are ever 2 years because they need to be checked but full re calibration is every 6 years
and dvsa always check every 12 months when the vehicle is presented for test

dumper wrote:It’s few years ago the local taco centre had a fleet they calibrate they allways turned up with the same set of tyres on all their trucks worn down and re cut to the limit so as to get best top speed out of the limter but he said it didn’t make that much difference on my last camper I had a Conrad Anderson cruise control with 3 setting I set them up with the satnav to 54&60 actual speed 52& 57 on the 54 setting Hgv s passed me on the 60 setting actual speed 57 i was only passed twice and they were Irish trucks coming out of Holyhead port and they passed me like I was stood still must have had the magnet on the gearbox speed sender
