The old Hotormome seems to give a steady 28mpg come what may.
That's a 2006 Mk6 9ft tall T280 SWB with 125PS 2 litre TDCi with loads of gubbins on board all the time.

1997 100PS TD, LWB Hi Cube DRW,5.14 diff, average consumption of two tankfuls highway driving, with about 250kg load, 21 mpg cruising between 100-110 kph. I thought this was crap! My friends 1998 190LWB 5.14 100PS TD gets around 30mpg, AND has a lot more power than mine, (and I don't believe it is just the extra wind resistance of the HiCube and DRW's!)

LPG

Postby zien49 » Mon May 14, 2007 7:08 pm

Hi, ALL. Pudsey to Brighton 267 miles @ 50/55 mph A&B roads to M 1/M 25/A 24/A 27 56.23 Lt, = 12,5 gal, = 21.36 MPG (and I have fitted a 4.6? diff, I think it was) notes not to hand. And looking at the plugs the engine was running weak. So I am going to give the LPG another go and then its going to diesel?. DEREK

My van does 30.1 mpg. This is averaged over 22,000 mles in 2 years, keeping a detailed fuel log.

Mainly long distance/touring driven gently, max speed about 60 mph (occasional rev up to clean out injectors etc)

135ps, 330, high roof, mwb, 2600kg kerbweight.

Drove down to Santa pod, done a bit of strip driving back to Portsmouth, got 287 miles on 60L of fuel so about 21mpg

Thats in a Lwb minibus with a 2.0 pinto
Buying a used rental car is like going to a house of ill repute looking for a wife anything thats been driven that hard and that fast by that many people, you really wouldnt wanna put your key in it

Went down to Cambridge, across and down to Aldershot area and back up to derby. Abit of localish running around too.

398 miles on 60 litres = 30 mpg! :D well pleased, as I wasn't hanging around either, but did slip stream as many big things as I could on the way back up. '98 2.5 di swb shr. approx 300-400 kilos loaded for 1/2 trip.
