Me 230 drw high cube is averaging around 18.26
It's a 2.5 turbo diesel 100ps version, the odd run on motorway and round town.
Me 190 lwb semi high is averaging around 22.35 :o
It's a 2.5 diesel 76 ps with torque tweak.
Driving as above.

decided to calm it down a bit and didnt want a 500 mile walk home if i busted it so took it easy at 55/60 mph and got 32mpg.

best i've had from the DOHC tourneo is

29 MPG :D

(lightly loaded motorwy run, just after a service. 45 litres to do 295 miles) and i've just achieved the worst-

21 MPG

a month of short mile journeys accross town, every time i turned the key it was a cold start, lots electrical use (front & rear demisters, fan etc.) used 58 litres to do 272 miles.

My Transit's MPG

Postby oldandbold » Sat Jan 20, 2007 10:09 pm

I use my van in anger every three months, it's a run either from or to our house in France. In the UK it's run once a week to Tesco.
The total miles, mainly motorway is about 750 each way. I normally cruise at about 70-75 in UK and 80-85 in France. It's mainly motorway all the way.
It is a 2.0 ltr 100 ps turbo-diesel, 2002 model T260.
Consumption is never less than 40 and has peaked at 43.5 on occasions.
I'm happy with that.

The '94 70ps diesel swb I used to own was pretty good- usually 35-40mpg
mainly constant speed driving.
The mk2 camper, last time I used it, (2.0 pinto single choke, automatic trans) was getting 18-20 at the most. it now has a manual 5 speeder but its not road legal to check. I doubt it'll be much better, pintos were never renowned for good fuel economy.

about 27 mpg... will check it out properly when i get it back, not done it for 12 months ;)

But i know laden and off to wales it gets a lot less. I did do on average 1000 miles a week, so it does depend on where i am and what i am doing!

Just got back from Swansea after having just replaced the cam belt. With it I also did, all the filters and oil, loads of gaskets including the head and consequently the valve clearances. Spent ages cleaning the crap out of the inlet ducts. Definately more power especially at the top end.

23mpg! Bah! :x

My 3000 kg plus camper returns anything between 5 and 6 km/litre (14 to 17 Miles/gallon) on average with very odd returns of 4.5 and 7 km/litre, the last figure while using acetone last year.

City or highway driving makes no much difference; odometer and speedo are spot on and although I never accelerate hard I do keep, or try to keep to the speed limit most of the time, at 80 to 100-110km/h.

Maximum speed ever was 139 km/h (when engine was much newer fifteen years ago, on a long flat stretch and with the wind behind - which doesn't happen very often with a big thing like this), just one kgm/h short of the maximum 140 km/h marked on the speedo but I never pushed it that hard again.

At 3000 rpm on overdrive (.68 overdrive and 4.63 diff) it does 100 km but I cannot keep that on long hills.
