So I have a really rusty Transit. It was a very bad auction buy (I have scalded myself enough for that one).
I knew about 2 days after buying it that it was a bit of a bucket, I had to learn to weld and replace the sliding door sil as it was being held together by the paintwork.
When I took the floor up there was some old rust repair behind the cab seats (no divider) and I scooped a fair amount of flaked metal and grime out of the bodywork at this stage.
Today I decided to take the rubber matting up in the front as it was wet on the underside - as has become a common with this van I discovered more rust and holes.
So this is a thread to just show off some of the damage, and also to say "Is that a supporting beam and should I be worried about the structural integrity of the van?"
I feel it's unlikely to make it through its next MOT anyway so might be time for a new van when it fails.

p.s. - what is a transit worth to a scrapper?
