they have got wrap around doors but only go 240 degrees not 270 http://image.trucktrend.com/f/41471201+ ... -space.jpg this is not my van but picture shows how all wrap around doors are on the mk8

That's a bit rubbish. Personally I find it really useful to be able to fold the doors back flat against the side of the van right out of the way on my Mk7.

last year on one of my deliveries sticking to 65mph I got just over 700 miles per tank out of my mk7 jumbo on a Scotland run (80 litre tank ) ,this year I got 680 miles per tank from my mk8 on the same run , one big difference is the new filler caps on a mk8 means you cant brim them , I think that's the difference, I do find that average mpg goes up if I don't use 6th gear on a motorway and stay in 5th at 70mph doing 2500 revs

its total madness , what were ford thinking ? I am looking into getting smaller magnets but I have a feeling the hinges are the issue not the magnets , I am going to talk to ford about this when my van is next in for service

Yes should have had smaller magnets at the handle end of the doors putting them at the hinge end is a mistake for sure

There good figures i think i used to get 550 from a 115, 520 from a 140 , 490 from a 200, all Jumbos best one i had was a front wheel drive 140 euro 4 lwb & you could get that into the low 600s. Ive been driving a 314 euro6 Sprinter last few weeks & ive got from the last 3 fill ups, 655miles 86 litres, 644 94 litres & 668 90 litres the 644 was a Scottish run from Kent, its fitted with the 100 litre tank & is the 4.3 metre version

Maybe but it needs a lot of revs and a bit of slipping the clutch to get started on inclines that the mk6 would go up on tlckover buT I don’t like the idea of doing the diff on scutch a low miles van I will probably se what it’s like when out of warranty and had a trip to van tuner
