Although mine is a petrol..I usually get about 380 out of a tank and i have a very heavy foot..Whoever said you can see the needle going down they werent wrong

Hoping to get a bit more when the new engine goes in and running smoother..Would probably get another 100 miles if i did 70 everywhere,But then id spend more time on the motorway so it balances itself out i suppose :)

this time 445 miles on 57.63 litres is 12.67 gallons and it works out to 35.1 MPG getting better but that did include a trip over to manchester :D

just got back from a run southend to cambridge and back in my Tourneo DOHC. 148 miles of M25 and M11 and i used 23.43 litres of unleaded.

By my shakey calculator this is 28.9 MPG  which is about 5 mpg better than i thought i would. kept 75-80 most of the way. only had one passenger though

Better than my petrol then..The old engine that knocked did about 380 to a tank doing 80 to 95..Weird thing is the new engine does about 380/400 to a tank and ive been doing 70 to 80 mph to run it in  Would of thought id of got quite a bit more with it being a new engine..Think it works out at about 23/24 to the gallon

But i want a bit more .. May go back to driving how i normally do if im not getting any more to the gallon

was only doing 20 MPG when i bought it- but a service, pumping up the tyres and a bottle of injector cleaner in the tank seemed to do the trick!

i hate to think what if falls to round town though

Same as me..Most of my miles are on the motorway..Always service mine and it gets the redex treatment ..Still crap on mpg though

Think i'll have to find a way of trying to save on fuel..If there is one :)

Matt

Around town is about 22mpg. I'm very sad and keep a spreadsheet record of my costs, including fuel consumption. My overall average so far is around 27mpg, with a best of 33mpg and worst of 18 (before service and just after purchased). I find that cruising at 65mph is the most fuel efficient speed.

You only need two tools in life: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.

thanks frank,

its not that sad- i always find myself working out average MPG when i fill up. dont put it on a spreadsheet though

kind of on-topic: I borrowed a mate golf GTi last week and loved playing with all the trip computer functions. anyone know if the trip computers from sierra or granada's can be fitted to a transit? cant resist toys.
