Hi ber tech sorry for not replying sooner just back from Turkey..... I used a "satin" black oil based paint on them and rubbed the bumbers down with a scotch pad and then degreased them before applying the paint by brush, use a good quality paint brush.Dont use gloss black as they look crap.Hope this helps mate.

Got a new towbar and electrics fitted. Very much cheapness @£106 delivered Bought the kit from Tow True heavy duty towbar and relay for the electrics.Took me about 6hrs the old bumper bolts were rusted solid so i had to heat them all with me oxy/acetlyne torch to free them and fitting the relay was a mare and had to go on their website as the wireing is so confusing, but got it all working fine.Just got to hook my boat up and i,m away to Dunbar for a days fishing.

Also fitted my roofrack painted black to match the overall colour theme black/silver

It looks good,I'm after a Mk7 myself,I have been looking on E bay and other places and what I find is ,,If the asking price is reasonable then the van has hyper galactic mileage on them..With that in mind, My top millage van will have no more than 125,000 miles on the clock. After all my Mk 5 that I will put up for sale as soon,Will have 79,000 miles on it plus 12 months mot..So if any one is selling a mk7 swb panel Transit at a resnable price drop me PM.........I cant really understand people buying a van with 175,000////200,000 miles on it !!.I know what your gonna say they then engines well do 300,000 miles,They might but its the other parts of the van that would worry me as there are a load of other bits to ware out and go wrong.
Ford Transit 280 SWB,,Year 2008,,2.2,, If it can,t be fixed/repaired/ with a 4 pound lump hammer then it must be an electrical problem.

Totally agree with you there mate.I was the same when I was looking for a mk7.All the vans i saw were well over 100,000 and funny money I got mine for 4 grand with 103,000 with all the toys, but saying that i was looking for months before settling on this one. Most under 100,000 mls and just basic models in good nick were 5-6 grand and ebay was a no go for me.To many dealers and travelers selling on there.Keep looking something will turn up.Any mk5,s in good nick are hard to come by so if you have a good un you will get good money for it.

Hi,Again I had a lead this morning and I only had to go 10 miles away and I bought a MK7,White,White front area as well,110,000 miles £3.500.Plylined,Steel bulkhead,Taxed until end of year,Mot to May14,Just had a service, plus History plus two remote keys,I am collecting it tomorrow night and I cant wait.Private sale.So what I need now are some of those proper nice Ford Transit hub caps,Plus paint the inside wood white.I must admit I do like the silver tranny that the guy who started this post put on here it looks great.I would also like some of those steering wheel alloy looking things he bought. So it looks as tho my Mk5 will be put in the papers soon for sale.So im all excited to get my replacement mk7 home and make a start. :)
