"new" 1977 transit

Postby kof » Mon Feb 01, 2016 11:08 am

Hello from Norway :D

I was visiting an old garagje , and there I found a 1977 model ford transit.
The car has been in heated garagje for many years!
Now it only remains to pick up the car and sign the papers.

I don't have so much information.

I know its from 1977, and its a 2.4l diesel. The weight is 3350 kg (  )

Only place I could find parts for the car is Ebay. Dou you know any other place?

Thanks mate! They have everything :)
The car looks surprisingly good. I could only see a little rust around the rear bumper.
there is no rust otherwise on the car as I can see, but I 'm excited to look under it.
Got the car for free, and I have only looked at it for 5min, so I don't know the condition so well

FREE !!! Nice one , can't get cheaper that that eh?!

Looks mega 8) , love the colour to.

Twin side loading doors aren't common on the later vans, no idea about that era.

Love to see more pics as and when.

That's true :)

Thinking of getting new paint on it, and it wil be the same color.

More pics will come as soon as I get the car home.

I'm just woundering, how can a car that is 3.3tons only have 66bhp? Haha
And how can it be 3350kg? Its a van! Its nothing in the back.. Is the car bulletproof?

It's fairly common to have twin side loading doors if it's an SVO build. All the Firevans had them.

Isn't 3350 it's gross weight. Ie max carrying? My mk2 is 3200kg's as it's a Transit 130.

Ok so now I got the car.

It's been in the heatet garagje for 22 year.
After 20 sec it startet :D it runs perfect! Only problems is the brakes does not work so I have to fix that.
The car is "New" under, and it is absolutly no rust.

The best part is: the car only got 10.500km / 6500 miles!
Im so happy now. Will post pic when I get home
