I am glad that Matt is pleased with the van, the van served me very well for the 2 years that I owned it and it never let me down. I hope that it serves Matt as well is it did me, I knew that I would be sorry to see it go and already semi-regret selling it.
Good luck witht he van mate and dont forgot to fit those new brake bits that I never got around to doing.

Rgds

Jamie

Cheers mate.

The van will be looked after in the same manner that it seems to have been all it's life, may even be attending a few meets with it in time, who knows.

The van has already had a full service and all oils changed (engine/gearbox/diff) it's also been waxoiled and re-undersealed underneath. The brakes and new front shocks are due to be put on the week after next when also the cambelt and tensioners are getting done.

It deffinatly turns heads, more so than any of my other cars I've had put together, and I've already been asked (jokingly I think!) by one of the neighbours not to park it outside their house as they can still see it with the curtains pulled.

Forgot to say mate, got the problem with the interior lights and rear flashers sorted. The lights were simply down to a dodgy fuse connection, and the flashers were as you said the wire had come out of the switch panel... all sorted :)

Thought I'd update this with recent photos, of work and play.

Playtime:

The van attended the PVS show at Santa Pod last month, attending as the VxON 'support van' and successor to last year's blue Transit Bus effectionatly known as the 'Love Bus', this then being the 'Love Bus 2'

It also seems the Orange Transit is the weapon of choice for hope-to-be superheroes

Image

The RAC man seemed genuinely happy to be re-united with an old work van

Image

And the Tangerine even made it into a performance car magazine aswell

Image

It's not all play though, through the week the Transit still earns it's keep doing recovery and breakdown work, and what a fine workhorse it's proving to be, day in, day out (and night) attending downed vehicles, and regularly towing substancial loads around the Midlands.

This Carlton + Trailer combination came in at a tad over 2t, the van itself having a payload of around 600kg at the time.

Image

This has become a regular site at the local resting place for many retired cars

Image

Hard at work boosting down the M1 on an early wet morning

Image

Help at hand

Image

Even in the early hours

Image

And stopping to take a breather on the A5

Image

Finally, the arty farty angle shot I had to include

Nearly one year of ownership, and it went for it's MOT today, straight through the MOT without a single advisory (after I replaced a couple of wear and tear bits in fairness). The tester was actually amazed at how good the chassis is, remarking how it's the best Mk5 Transit they've seen through there, and in better nick than alot of Mk6s they see too.

Looks like RAC's decision to underseal all their Transits from new has paid dividends years later for their owners. And having a van that's been looked after all through it's life likewise. I'm treating it to a new coat of underseal, and a chassis injection of waxoil when the weather improves.

Can't describe how chuffed I am with it, I've considered selling it at times when directions have changed, but I'm glad I kept it. Here's to many more orange miles 8)

Hi Matt

Hows the van going? was only talking about it the other day and saying how much I regret selling it.

Hope all is well.
