OK picked it up yesterday in Sydney NSW. fueled up and checked out a local gumtree, low and behold there was a 2007 (MK7 )to you guys, breaking about 200km,s away well in the big scheme another 250km on top of the 3900km drive home was not a big deal. so txt the guy and he had all the stuff so i paid $600 for all the front end bits with a rad and A/C condenser, what a bargain got it all at UK prices pound for dollar (bargain no postage as well its on the tray of the transit) Its only a pity the windscreen was still in it as he would have cut the whole front end off for me and i could of had that as well. Anyway having breakfast at a truck stop now, i will ask questions later as to what else i need to convert it to a MK7 front during the beaver deck build. IM CHUFFED. :)

spent the last 2 evenings (hour and a half after work with a cold beer) peeling the sign writing off the truck. Little bit more to do then the big stickers on the bonnet and sides.

Manufacturers plated weight is the same as uk.
Ozzie - there are restrictions on overhang, been out of trucks 12 years now so unsure on the requirements. Dept of transport will put you right or look on their web. I think most of the regs are available on PDF. You can get away with certain overhangs but then it comes into the oversize/ over length class which will restrict you to certain roads and travel times.

First by pulling it back wards about 500mm. fitted alloy tool box. and space left for the crane.
