It's got an electro magnet in it and measures the pull, then converts it into a measurement.

its a paint thickness meter what i use so i no what products and how hard i can go with my machine polisher ...it measures in um's(The symbol µm is sometimes rendered as um if the symbol µ cannot be used, or if the writer is not aware of the distinction. The micrometre is a common unit of measurement for wavelengths of infrared radiation as well as sizes of cells and bacteria and is also commonly used in plastics manufacturing and paint.). .

ps am all ways up late .....cos i dj as well as car valeting

Tidy result
Just wondering, as my vans previous users signwriting is still ever so fairly visible in a certain light on my white mk7, does a proper polishing completely remove this? (is there a chance one Polish won't get this out?)
I ask because I've just had mine polished by a valet centre and I can still see a silhouette through the paint slightly...

Thought mine would turn out like yours looks but it's not quite up there!
I never see any flawless red paintwork, all the red vans around here went pink/ have royal mail scars!

THANK's ..and i could do a good job for you at discount. yeah myhn was valeted when i got it but not as good as i machine polish.
and yeah i make them pink vans come back to life takes us a good days work tho to do it wright. and seal the paint after it. :shock:
