Mark 2 Campervan. Devon Conversion

Postby Haxman » Tue Oct 21, 2008 8:33 pm

Here's my van

Its a Mk 2 transit camper van with Sheldon plastic high top, converted by the Devon conversion company and registered in 1987. One of the last Mk 2's built I like to think!

I came accross it in a mates barn, it belonged to one of the farm workers, he'd owned it for 5 years and had it resprayed, used it a little and parked it up in the barn for 3 years before selling it to me.

This is how i found it...

I welded up the hole in the exhaust and took it for an MOT..

Image

Straight through the MOT with a bit of tape over the sharp edges on the front of the rusty bonnet

Image

The chap I bought it from had an article written about the exact conversion done by Devon. The conversion was named Dawn. Ive scanned it in for anyone who maybe interested...

I finally got round to fitting some tidy wheels to it and giving it a good clean up.

Inside too! I took down the curtains and had new rear seat cushions made... New Navy blue curtains are on the way...

Please note the double front seat is not standard and was used to help transport 7 bridesmaids and a bride for my sisters wedding earlier this year!!
