Wow, never seen a mk2 long wheel base with a Sliding side loading door. :? I wonder why they weren't popular or available in the UK or here in Malta :? . I have seen this system in France ,Italy and now here on this tread. In my opinion they are more practical than my side loading door. Mine when it opens  , it opens into half the street and swings about  and be afraid that i'll hit a passing car.Glad that latter Transits went for the practical sliding option. Can anybody comment on this.
Great Van, keep it up mate. 8)

Safer too in that it slides open on the pavement side.

very nice van 8) 8)

for some reason you can't get sliding doors on the right hand drive vans - i think they are better but they dont look as neat as a normally opening door :D

I think they don't give a good opening width as the conventional one, as i can judge from the photos.

I was told by the sales person that sliding door in it is rare and there are not many around whit it.
Dont think it wil work whit dual wheels in the back becose whit opening the sliding door would hit the wheel arch.
But think the sliding door is a nice bonus.

The Ambulances that were there hade a neat litle step coming out automatic from under the Van when you opend the side door 8) .
And they had a back sliding window on the right side were mine is left :?:

Had the door pannels of this wekend to give it a good Wax/ML coating.
Every thing looks like new in there.
Missus and me first  were thinking giving it an other colour (two tone grayish),but the orange is starting to grow on us 8)
so think we mit keep it orange also saves lots of work painting the insides. .

Did 300 kilometers in it and drives fine for its age.
It does swerve a bit like a american car .so se if i can find me something at work to improve the handeling a bit.

(ps the door opens bit further than on the picture almost even whit the frame same space you juse overal entrance space is the same if not more since you cannot open (me think) the normal door only 180 degrees )

your side door should have a latch on it, and a clip bolted to the wing, that holds the door open ,,,,a hard push fit
