MK7 with coloured keyed bumpers - silver

Postby Sportman » Tue Feb 15, 2011 7:47 pm

Thought I would share these picts of how I have had my van coloured keyed if anyone is
thinking of doing theirs and wondering what it would look like.

I will post picts soon as I am fitting sports van body kit and wheels and will also post picts of
side skirts being extended as this is a mwb so had to extend them.

As you can see in the rear bumper picture I have colour keyed the complete middle section
didnt want to pay £60 for a piece of checkerplate so brought another centre section on Ebay
for £5 and cut it and rivited over the exsisting to protect the top of bumper - works well and
looks good.

Let me know what you guys think.

front end nice though,do you mind me asking how much it cost to paint or did you do it yourself?

Hello mate, Yeah hopefully the arches should blend through with the bits we left un colour keyed.

I put the sport wheels on today, they look good, they are finished in anthracite and they quite good so let me know what you think, primeing rest of side skirts tomorrow and my brother painting it all next weekend so hopefully will have it all on soon, the cost would be (if metallic) £400.00 because its a pig of a job because he has to DA all the bits and them 2 pac high build primer to get rid of the mottled effect.

Will post updated picts later tonight.

MK7 with new Sports Wheels

Postby Sportman » Fri Feb 18, 2011 10:35 pm

Wheels are on - halfway there - hopefully in the next few weeks it should be complete with sports kit.

Just gotta watch out for them nasty curbs and pot holes, anyone would have thought I was drunk this morning trying to avoid pot holes. :x Dunno why we pay road tax with the state of our roads.

Let us know what you think!!

Nice wheel and if you want to see pot hole come over here to Ireland and drive the main road from my house to the next town people don't avoid pot holes cause there is always a bigger one on the other side of the road and if not in the middle

Yeah thanks for the tip, did read that someone had a MK6 that had bigger profile tyres on, looked good!!!

Sorry about quality of picts was getting dark, so will have to put more on, taken in daylight.

just a quick question......Sports wheels load rating...mine are 800KG, I read someone had a set of 1200KG each, do you know if there are different types?
