Looking for a Transit but need some advice

Postby jbec-john » Fri Mar 28, 2014 2:28 am

Hey there everybody. After buying a 2008 Vivaro in December, and having nothing but trouble with it until it finally slipped it's timing chain on Monday and destroyed the engine, I'm now looking for something a bit more reliable and I'm hoping that a transit might be suitable.
I've looked at a few on autotrader, but I have no idea which one's are the better models, and what faults to look out for when buying.
I'll put a few links on below to show you the sort of things I'm looking at. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers in advance

John

The 85ps, although the slowest, is in my experience the most reliable.
Make sure it ticks over smoothly and evenly and does not hunt
Make sure engine and power train light come on at start up, then go off
Full service history is always nice
Ford Transit Custom 280S Trend 105ps
Does this train stop on Merseyside?
