Hi folks!
We would like to buy a Transit Tourneo as (large) family vehicle. We are currently considering a 2003 2.0 TDCi van with 135000 miles on the clock. I have read up on the engines and I am aware that the common rail diesel is beautiful to run, but more expensive to fix. According to the dealer he is holding bills that show that the dual-mass flywheel and the injectors (those at 110000 miles) have already been replaced. Does this now mean that this is a low-risk (for huge bills) purchase, or will it still be expensive in a few years. We were planning on keeping that van for a long time...
Does the TDCi engine always come with the costly dual mass flywheel? As in, does it always mean double-trouble and hence we really are better off finding a TDDi engine?
Any additional buying advice would be welcome...
The steering rack has been replaced as well according to the dealer, is that a common thing to go wrong?
Thanks in advance!
