Buying a Transit...

Postby PatchettPlumbing » Tue Jan 08, 2013 11:45 pm

Hi All,

I am debating whether to buy a Vivaro or a Transit. I have found a Transit I like, but wanted to check your thoughts.

The van is 09 reg with 126k on the clock, looks clean and full history. 2.2 TDCI 115ps 6spd Trend.

Anything I should be aware of?

I contemplated the same thing when I was looking around. I got a LWB transit in the end, Its ex network rail and has done 133k miles but drives like new. Dont think mileage is an issue with transits. Not sure what Vivaro are like but dont think you can go wrong with a serviced transit.

Go for a transit but check for any issues with clutch and steering, usual things as with any car/van. Also important that they have been updated because it can cause catastrophic problems as you will see if you look at the problems people on here have had.

avoid the vivaro, it`s slow, uncomfortable, small, poor turning circle etc, but I am a little biased
