I have the misfortune to own a 2007 2.4 Transit Van. Should have followed previous experience with Ford and stayed away.

The repairer of the only thing remotely connected with injectors assures me faithfully that his work could not have caused my grief today when two injectors came loose. I now face a repair bill of $7000 to $10,000 for all sorts of damage to the engine from the unleashed compression. I all my driving history I have never copped a bill like that for a repair that has no warning and is so catastrophic. The advise is that is is close to the value of the vehicle. If I had hit a pole I would have been better off. He is effectively saying write the vehicle off. Goodnight $20,000. or repair it with an open cheque and make it a possibly $30,000 van that no-one would buy.

This will wipe out my retirement reserves.

Lesson learnt- Don't buy diesel and don't buy Ford.
It has absolutely winded me.

Before berating the transit can you tell us specifically what has happened to get to this point.

Presently it sounds like misdiagnosis by a halfwit mechanic and also that the loose injectors have been ignored for a length of time, that wouldn't be easy to do since they sound like a machine gun going off.
