Price sounds ok if the bodywork and trim is near mint, everything working, and it drives spot-on :D
Service history is a must, and also two original keys :)

Many thanks
Full service history, price includes 1 year warranty, 1 year recovery, next service (11k away) free, or £500 off price. Any specific body areas or problem areas to check? Bit nervous about handing over that much cash with so little knowledge? What mpg do these do, was concidering T260/280 80/85 like my mate who swears by it.

Taking The 500 quid off instead of the service then the price would be reasonable for a retailer but going to buy a vehicle with no knowledge is leaving it down to luck.
It always amuses me when people put so much emphasis on service history its little more than a record of oil services. The only real way to know what your buying is to look at it and drive it for a good few miles.

Why anyone would want to go to a dealer when paying cash is beyond me.The only thing you can guarantee is your paying more than you need to.
Ad for warranty,I'd be looking at the small print.
Good luck:......

You got it right, I don't WANT to go to a dealer and pay the extra, and it does not amuse me at all, but its costing me £600 odd extra a month to rent a new van, straight off bottom line of courier earnings. So if I spend couple months looking around and learning what to look for, Ive thrown £1200 down the drain to the same dealer in rental. Fully take your point, usually warranty ain't worth ..etc. Service history ur right again, but I would not look at anything that had nada records in the way of care. Bodywork look fine, test drive arranged for Sat, problem is still I have no experience in this area or the time to get it. Anyone in Harlow Sat morning wanna take me by the hand?

If i was local id help you out but unfortunatly its out of the question.

A long road test is the best advice and not from the passenger seat im sure your aware of most of the normal things to look for on that behalf.
The other things to check is a steady tickover which if not steady will point to a blown prv and more importantly is oil round the injector seals although you will only be able to see the outer 2 without removing the airbox the odds are if both outers are dry then its a safe enough bet the inners will be too.
If they are wet it shows the injector nozzle seals are leaking forcing oil up through the rocker seals and possibly watering the oil down with diesel. Its a common problem that can end in real tears. While its not a deal breaker it wants attending to before purchase and the oil and filter at the same time.
The 110 seems to be the most reliable of the 2.2's while they arnt arm wrenching they arnt completely flat either.
when the van is turned off you should hear a sawing sound from the egr if its more of a squeal its on its way out again not a deal breaker but they are all bargaining tools.

Do not over look the injector seal check....

Times are hard so work a good deal......

Hope it works out.
