Better treated Transit bodies?

Postby unclebulgaria » Thu Jul 24, 2014 12:46 pm

Hi people.
I've got a 51 plate transit 260 thats really pushing the limits of my patience with the rot now so planning to get shut of it soon as its passed its MOT.
Was wondering if anyone knew when, if its happened yet, did Ford start to make more effort to protect their Transits a bit better with regards to the rust issue?
I've had mine for 5 years now and I've done my best to treat the under body with waxoyl to fend off the iron worm but its a losing battle.
Forgive me if this question has been answered already.
Planning on buying a 10+ plate and getting a head start on the treatment underneath so advice would be grateful.
cheers.

P.S. The gf is pressuring me to get a VW transporter but I love my transit. I'm running out of excuses other than to dump the gf. lol

I plan to trust me. I've learnt that from my current model.
Just wondered if Ford had started to make a bigger effort to stop the rust and if so what year did it start?
Another question is, is Waxoyl the best treatment available?
