Buying my first Transit - Considering a MK7

Postby sammyinnit » Mon Aug 11, 2014 9:33 pm

Hi all;

New to the forum, although not so new to transits, even if this will be my own first. My old man has had lots of different ford vans all the way back to a MK1(and escort vans, should they count); but I've decided it's time to get my own - for purpose of work, fishing, camping, etc.

I'm drawn to the MK7, it just looks that little bit more... stylish? Not disregarding the new transit as unstylish, I just don't want to spend that amount of money. Im only in my quite early 20's so I want something that's practical and a work horse, and a bit of a looker; although not nessisarily a looker when I but It, I don't mind adding a bit of this or that to try and make it look at bit more aesthetically pleasing; I need something a bird wouldnt mind being seen in (ha).

Also, I want something with a few mod cons (air con is a must), along with a decent/FSH and as low miles as possible, I do alot of motorway miles, so the lower the better.

Budgeting £6k - what would you expect to get for that kind of money, and do you have any good examples of vans for sale, past sales etc. I could look at? - I'm hoping to have one by the end of this year (I need to get rid of this poxy vauxhall, worst mistake I made was going from Ford to Vaux).

Cheers Gents(or ladies)
