2005 t260 - fair price?

Postby beanis » Sat Jun 27, 2015 3:36 pm

Hi

Gonna go see this later http://www.gumtree.com/p/vans/transit-t ... 1122575131

2005 T260 85ps

its a duratorc 3 engine aparently? and he wants £1500

is this a fair price? I've seen so many rusty ones for around £750 and wanting to put extra cash in to get a good one - anything to look out for with Duratorc engines? I'm used to DI's

Generally they rust worse underneath,
Looks a bit rough to me, poorly painted, all the seem lines are covered with paint, lock barrel and rear badge too, rusty rear arch covered with paint too, no interior pics? and high miles.

No such thing as a duratec 3 engine?

It's a duratorq, most common issue with these is electronic fuel pump failure

I'd say it's closer to s £750-800 van

That looks a bit more genuine, but check underneath. Check the rear crossmember, spring hangers, cills and front steps for rot. Should have been maintained being gpo, but may have been driven hard!

how about this low mileage?

Ended up buying this for £1250.

yes.... I KNOW its too expensive. but need a van by Monday and so had to part with more than i wanted.

Still, low mileage and the engine is good... no issues apart from a few spots of rust which could be cleaned up - checked all areas you said and they are good too. Basically structurally its sound I think.

If i can sell for £1k in 12 months time i'll be happy.

Thanks for advice!
