Mk3 Transit for 500euro with 280000km. Will i get this home?

Planning on flying to estonia at some point in august and driving back to england with some friends who live over there. Cars a seem a lot cheaper to buy, tax and insure in estonia and it should be legal to drive in the uk for 6 months. Want to convert into a campercan at some point, but for now my main concern is will this hold up for the 1000 mile drive back home?

Whats questions should i be asking, and what are the most common problems to look out for?

Make sure the oil and water are topped up, check for fluid leaks and blue smoke, if all is good you should make it easily 8)

I reckon the biggest problem you could have would be a broken cam belt, so try and find out when it was last changed, if you cant or it was more than 50k miles ago change it before you leave

Good point google maps says it should be about 1800 miles in total; though Poland, Germany and Amsterdam. The petrol's gonna be expensive, what sort of mpg should i expect?

Once you get to Germany its. All motorways to the tunnel but Poland is little roads stuck behind wagons apart from a bit of the a2 autostrada and that costs 3 lots of 1300 zilz and 1 toll of 1850zl. When added up and changed to real money is about 21856.99 pounds :?
It's downhill on the way back so if you take it easy I think you might get up to 10 mpg
