The maximum trailer plated MAM is 3.5 tonnes when towing on a B (under 3.5 tonnes GVW/MAM) vehicle

If you only have a B licence and if the van is plated at 3.5 tonnes then your max MAM for a trailer will be 750kgs

If you have a B+E licence then the options are far greater

What licence do you have?
What is the GVW of your van?
What is the GTW and/or towing capacity for your van?
